http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=recover+%22raid+0%22+software - looks like it might be possible. Certainly the first result provides a lot of useful information!

All the data recovery companies I've called this morning are 100% confident they can pull the data off, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing to it.

I haven't got SATA ports in my old PC at home, so I'm thinking about buying a PCI card with SATA ports, so I can connect the drives to the PC. I've looked online and found softare called r-studio (I can't post links as a new user) which might be able to recover the RAID from software.

I think this is what I'm going to look at right now, software costs $80 and the PCI card is less than £20.

They have the controller, that's why, they buy them all to start with hence the high costs.
    Can you get another m/b?
Ring Dell support cheaper then you might think?

Chat with https://www.grc.com hard drive software guy.

r studio is software might need the Dell / raid controller for this!!!!

You do not NEED DATA recovery just to fix the PC..?

I'm assuming that fixing the PC will not be worth it, as I can get a new one for £300-350. Maybe I should ring them, and find out how much it would cost.

My key concern is getting the data off......a lot of the pictures there are simply priceless, anything else would be a bonus.

I would think a motherboard for £40 - all its worth (new)

Finally decided to call Dell Out of Warranty Support.

I paid £175, and they will pick up PC today, and return it in about a week or so they said.

Fingers crossed, they don't mess up my data. Once I get the PC back, I'm going to back it all up, and probably reformat and get rid of the RAID.
