Cover for what with Ant Insurance?

Buying PPI along with your loan usualy means paying a fairly high mark up, as you have discovered. Shop around for the best deal of talk to an IFA about your total need for dept protection.

Ok, i assumed it was but always good to check. Give them a call and see how much it would cost to up the limit on their policy if you need it to cover your total out goings. I think that is what I would do.
  • The only other point to add is to be sure that you don't go over the limit of what percentage of income they will cover. Most standalone PPI schemes vary the max amount of cover they will provide up to 50% - 75% of gross earnings. So if you get a differnet policy from another provider make sure that the total amount covered does not go over the cover limits for either. If you are 'over insured' they would reduce the amount that they pay if you made a claim.

But definately avoid thr PPI that comes with the loan, usually a complete ripoff
