Travel insurance for Australia: WILDLY different!

I'm due to go travelling in Australia for 2 months, July - September this year. Not planning on doing anything wild, but want fairly good cover in case something did go wrong and perhaps the odd 'activity'.
I first went straight to STA (who I know to be good but always very expensive) - quote of around £90. Same with Amex and Endsleigh.
But then I use quotebanana and the cheapest comes back at £25 from Admiral. I've tried to read as much of the policy as possible and it seems ok - but how can it be so different in price, especially when compared with so-called student insurers offering low prices? I am about to buy the Admiral one but can't help thinking it's too good to be true.

The quote you have from Admiral is a "Back Backers Policy" these offer lower levels of cover than normal policies which explains the difference in premiums. If you want to compare like with like get "Back Packer" quotes from STA and Amex.
Have you looked at an annual multi trip policy as you should be able to buy one for between £40 and £50 and this would cover future trips (You would have to upgrade it for some other countries eg USA). Just make sure you chose a policy with a maximum single trip of 60 days or more so it covers this trip.
If I were you I would be looking to take cover asap if you have booked you trip.
Have a look at Fortis preferably through a broker as the policy cover is better, otherwise the Post Office offer cover through Fortis0
