Snapped laptop

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
one of the hinges on laptop has competely snapped.so the screen part only held on by the other one which looks to have some sort of ribbon in it(i presume this is how things get to the screen).the one that snapped had a sort of wire in it .when it snapped i expected it to stop working but im on it now.......sorry for being basic:rolleyes:
any ideas how much a fix will be>

    be careful. a broken hinge may be "superglued" or epoxied if you cant find another hinge. If you break that ribbon cable then depending on the laptop model it could make the repair un-economical. Single wires on hinges are usually linked to a switch that tells the laptop that its screen has closed. The ribbon cables are the data signals to the screen

    The wire going up inside might be the wireless antenna running up inside the lid.
    You might be able to get spare hinges from ebay if you search for the right model and fit them yourself.
    My acer has a snapped off bit but I have superglued it as it is just the plastic cover not the part that gets screwed into to hold the weight of the lid/screen.

    Thanks....one completely snapped now...still working ok..will take it in to get proper fix done before its ruined
