How do you stop AVGs resident shield from popping up at the bottom right corner of the screen? It keeps appearing stating "Found tracking cookie".

If I don't say it, someone else will: any particular reason you're using AVG?
It's not very good.0 -
How do you stop it popping up?
Uninstall it.
It's a substandard AV.
Download Avira: http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html?part=dl-10322935&subj=dl&!!!!!button&cdlPid=11012914
Once installed update it
Perform a full scan
Quarantine everything found0 -

I never heard of Avira, has it been on the market long and how much does it cost?0 -
Avira is free and has FAR better definition files than AVG
Im sure its really easy to turn of the popups but im afraid I cant help you with that
HOWEVER ~
As youve been using norton and AVG id suggest a scan with MALWAREBYTES to double check your computers clean ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-18510_4-10804572.html?cdlPid=10997763
UPDATE and FULL scan
Post the log here after its deleted everything
Also use the norton removal tool as simply uninstalling leaves bits behind/running

There is nothing wrong with AVG at all, it is a relatily good antivirus product.
However I do use Avira (although full version) and appear good and has been highly rated in reviews. And would choose it over AVG0 -

I would say AVG is pretty mediocre; there are worse and there are better.
Avira AntiVir is better.0
