Hi All, I'm in the process of a hardship claim with halifax to give you all a bit of a timeline here goes
10/02/09 handed in soa to my local branch
recived another letter stating they had recived no info
04/03/09 called them and was told they had recived it but it had gone to the wrong dept (i hand delivered it but all info was in the ppe the complaints dept sent with my soa)and to give them about a month,
09/04/09 rang again i was 1st told my name had been left off a list then told someone would ring back that day (thursdaqy) or on tues (bank
holiday) no one did
By this time i'm thinking they lost my soa
14/04/09 recived a letter saying
they acknowledge my complain, they have reviewed my case and are satisfied the fees are fair, they also acknowledge that i have indicated my financial difficulties and in view of my current financial circumstances they would like to arrange for there money management team to ring me.
I am now confused no where in this letter does it say anything about refunding the bank charges or even if they agree that i'm in hardship, what should i do now (i'm aware that they have passed the 8 week window and would like to used this against them if poss)

Sorry to say this but Halifax really do have shocking communication with customers and terrible customer services who want to do their best to bounce people around.0

Hi All, a little update and some advice needed.
Some 16 weeks ago i sent in my soa to halifax after calling twice and getting different answers i called again today and was told that a letter dated the 5th of may was waiting to be sent out to me (he sliped up and told me it hadnt been sent out) I asked what it said and was told due to my financial difficulties Halifax are willing to refund the last three months worth of fees applied to my account. In one way good in another way bad because although my account is open and i owe them 89p i have not used that account in nearly a year, because of the fees i couldnt afford to bank with them anymore so the last three months refunds dont apply because i have not had any charges in that time. Does the above mean they agree i'm in hardship and could i argue that as they agree hardship i want all the money back i'm owed. As soon as this letter arrives i will be calling halifax and just want to be ready for any crap they try to give me0 -

Hi and thanks for your reply, the halifax man said " there was a letter dated the 5th of may, do you want me to print it off and send it to you?" I took that as either 1, it's a delaying tool or someone simply forgot to print and post it0

Hi all, the letter from Halifax has arrived at last dated the 1st of May so it says
" Further to your conversation with one of our colleagues from our Money Management Team.
As discussed in view of your current financial circumstances to help you i have arranged for:
The cancellation of any fees you incur in the 3 months from the date of this letter. This is to allow you time to better order your outgoings so they closely follow the regular credits made to your account"
The rest goes on to say about the OFT test case although at the bottom it says "once the legal proceedings are completed we will review your complaint as quickly as possible"
So my second letter from Halifax and i still don't know if they are in agreement that i'm in hardship, any ideas from anyone?0 -

Yes, they are saying you are in hardship and that they are suspending charges for the next 3 months which is good. That means you shouldn't see further charges and it means it should help you get back on track.0 -
yes it is good, however the problem is i have not used that account in over a year so hailfax saying they will not pass on anymore charges in the next 3 months does not help at all.
I'm reclaiming charges from 2006 to 2008 so i now dont know what to do or say in a letter, i now know they agree with my hardship claim but will i have any grounds to argue for my cash back from 2006-2008?0 -

None, they have done something based on Financial hardship. If you do not use the account then also claim from your current account provider.0
