I think I'm agreeing with you. You won't stop speeding, nor will you stop other people that keep within speed limits from being generally bad drivers.

There is definitely the point there though that if someone is driving badly and not paying attention at 20mph they are less likely to kill someone.

You want better road safety? Improve the standards for all road users. Lowering the speed limit is the most !!!!ing stupid idea I've ever seen.

Couldn't agree more! Where I grew up (Zimbabwe) the schools took part in cyclist road training and every pupil had to take part. Many of the cyclist where I live have no idea how to behave in traffic.

A lot of pedestrians need to get it into their thick skulls that crossing a road is something to be done carefully and if possible at a designated crossing point. Not from behind a f'in van.

There must be plenty of deaths caused by people who aren't speeding under current legislation that wouldn't die if people were generally driving slower.

Really? Here is evidence that lives can be saved by speeding ;)

Accidents are not caused by speed, it is by due care and attention (or rather lack of). Just because a person was 10mph under the limit it doesnt mean that they will be fine to drive like that in the wet, in autumn, with tree sap all over the road.

Stupid nonsense blaming speed as always.
