Can anyone advise..
On the questionaire, one of the questions is..
i) Have you carried out any structural alterations, additions or extensions (e.g. provision of an extra bedroom or bathroom) to the property?
Would this statement include a conservatory?
ii) Has the electrical wiring in your property been checked?
We had the house re-wired about 6 years ago, do i put yes or no?
iii) What council tax band is the property in?
How do i find our tax band?
Many Thanks

1. Would this statement include a conservatory?
Yes. It's an extension.
2 We had the house re-wired about 6 years ago, do i put yes or no?
If the work was carried out by a qualified contractor, they would have to check it before signing off the job, so I'd say yes. If you re-wired it yourself, then unless you got a q.e. to check it .....
3. How do i find our tax band?
Ask the council. You should be able to phone them up, give address over the phone and they'll tell you.0 -
3. Have a look at the bill.0

1. yes.
2. You can write 'house was rewired 6 years ago' next toit, even if they don't give space. You are answering the question better than a simple yes or no. If I'm not sure, I always put what I'm thinking, there's no wrong way to do it.
3. You can get your council tax band by searching here:

I have seen quite a few of these PIQs and the replies can be very funny! Best thing to do is reply to the questions as if you where telling viewers but DONT lie.0

This question only asks about work done by the seller. So if an extension had been built or ban internal wall removed by a previous owner, but you haven't done anything, you can literally say "No". However, I think that some buyers would be confused by this and particularly where there is an obvious extension they would think you were trying to hide something. Best therefore in this sort of case to put something like: "No works by us, but extension added in about 19XX by previous owners...."RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0
