Don't know about Bath Spa but my son studied at Bath Uni (the one at the top of the hill) and he just loved Bath city for social life and the surrounding countryside.
We also loved going to visit him, it is a beautiful part of the country.

Sorry I can't help with Bath Spa but I'm sure someone will be along who can.

Sorry, I go to Bath Uni rather than Bath Spa so can't help with specifics about the uni. The city is fantastic, its a really nice (if slightly expensive) place to live and the social life side is great (even for a non-drinker).
I have been to bath spa's campus twice though, and it seemed ok.

Though I have to say that a common word used to describe it is 'farm', there are a lot of fields, some are fully furnished with cows ;) and the buildings are quite spread out and rarely have more than 2 floors. I will also say that the bus service isnt that great but to be honest I think thats an issue for most unis.

I studied there - beautiful campus, reasonable accommodation, good courses but a bit short on facilities. The bus service actually isn't bad and it's not too far to cycle to town if you're reasonably fit.

Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.
