My garden pond

I need my pond re-lined as the flexible liner is punctured. It is roughly a triangular shape, with each side being about 3 metres long, and it is no more than a metre deep. I had someone come and look at it the other day. He said it would need a 6 metre square sheet of pond liner, and a UV filter pump. It would also need to be lined out with sand under the liner, as this seems to be missing. He has quoted me £1,150 for this. :eek:I am in utter shock at this quote, which is hugely more expensive than I was expecting. Does that sound like a rip-off or is that the going rate? It seems extortionate, and I can't afford to pay that much, so if it is the going rate then I'm going to need a re-think...

Weird - he needs 36 m2 for a pond that is 3 X 3 + 9 m2 plus depth so I am guestimating 23m2 which includes waste.
These kind of jobs are not easy - from experience!! However it is 3 days work + materials MAX. If I were you I would expect to pay £6 - 850 for the job inclusive of materials.
Sorry - it sounds quite a fiddly, complicated job. But £1200 for 3 days work seems excessive.
