Tecchie problems on Ebay....Help

For quite a while now I am unable to leave feedback on Ebay...when i go to leave it and click positive, the dialogue box does not open.....I've tried turning off pop-ups.....but then every now and then it works but it never lasts.Today my kapersky antii virus has run out and I've removed the programme and installed AVG.....I went to list on ebay, first I got hit wih a page saying ... If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you from automatically redirecting to a new URL. tells you to click on link. Then I got to sell and when I tick the category i want and go to next page, it says you must choose at least 1 category. Thought it must be AVG causing problem so removed that too....but still same thing happening. Please can anyone help as I need to list some stuff.....Also just noticed I can't add a smiley on here......any help, I will be so grateful
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D

  • If I were you I'd uninstall AVG and install a decent antivirus, namely Avira AntiVir. This is regarded as one of the best free AVs.

Secondly I'd install Firefox and try again.

  • Go ahead and reset IE by all means. Open it, go Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Reset (assuming you have version 7)

I'd also suggest deleting your internet temp files using something like CCleaner:

No not at all. You need Internet Explorer to update windows e.g. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ won't work with Firefox.

    Download Malwarebytes: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&!!!!!button
    Once installed update it
    Perform a full scan
    Delete everything found
    Post the log back here

    Also download SuperAntiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE
    Once installed update it
    Perform a full scan
    Delete everything found

If you're still having issues download HijackThis: http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Do a scan and post log file back here

ok have downloaded firefox and Ebay working fine....can now do the feedback etc...thanks .
Will still do scan on malware bytes and later add virus programme. I have Ad-aware and find that pretty good so, if you think superantispyware better will look into it.
You mentioned windows update site....i don't update anything manually but occasionally when i shut down it downloads stuff....am I supposed to do more.....

Really grateful for the Ebay as I got do lots tonight....also firefox is soooo much faster....cheers

It was good 5 years ago, not today. SuperAntiSpyware is one of the best free ones around. If I were you I'd uninstall Ad-aware and anything else similar and simply use Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Avira AntiVir. As I say to remove temp files I'd use CCleaner.

No, as long as you've got it set to download updates automatically. You can check this by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates -> Automatic ticked

Glad it's fixed. You may like to investigate firefox add-ons. There's hundreds of them but the one I actually like and use myself is Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865) - this stops adverts showing on different websites e.g. I don't get the advert anymore on the right hand side when I go to hotmail.com and sign in.

I disagree with you about AVG Free. I have been running it for more years than I care to remember and it has always been excellent.

Well I'll leave it to the OP to decide who's better qualified. I've worked with computers for over 20 years, have a degree in Computer Science, qualified as an MCSA and work as a Server Support Analyst...
