Mmmmm, no the coupe is a saloon style boot, the only hatchbacks are the touring (estate), the compact and the X3/X5 etc.

Hi.
Dont touch the Civic, in the latest which report it came bottom in terms of reliability. This is also confirmed by my friends brand new civic which has spent more time being fixed than on the road. I know it looks stunning but it really is a pig of a car.
For the new generation Civic post 2006 I'd agree. However the pre 2006 ones are very, very reliable. Parts and servicing will likely be cheaper than the Mazda.0 -

A 318Ci (39mpg) for £7391

A naughtier 320Ci (it's 6 cylinder 31.7mpg) for £7982 also including leather

The 320Ci looks like the better deal to me0 -

Cheapest I can find is £7.3k... bit more than we can really afford.
How about buying privately and buying a warranty for 12 months for £300 instead? Is that a good idea or would the warranty company expect me to use specific (non-BMW specialist) garages?0 -

Thanks cpdc - I was thinking the cars of the age I would be looking to buy seem very reliable. Thanks for clearing this up.0 -
