can i claim compensation?
we bought a house december 07 which had pre payment meters installed. Switched the gas to british gas and in early 08 they put a credit meter in. However the electric was not so easy!
applied to switch the electric to british gas and recieved a letter saying it would switch march 08. this never happened and after much messing around, 4 reapplications and various letters to the company it was discovered that it was a computer error on their side.
we finally managed to switch in april 09, over a year later. They put a credit meter in within a week of the switch.
Does anybody know if i can claim compensation for the extra year we were paying prepayment meter prices and subsequently not recieving the dual fuel discount?

You might get a small 'goodwill payment' if you write and make a fuss.0

in all honesty the prices for the last year between pp and credit meters are minimal, if you work out the charges chances are there is very little difference- i actually worked this out for a colleague once and the charges on pp were cheaper!0
