Cost of drawing up Plans

I would like to ask what would be a fair quote for planning drawing and building control regulations to be drawn up by an archetect technician. I have just been quoted £600 for each set of drawings. It is my first quote and I would be getting someone else in. Is the above quote the going rate. All opinions welcome.

We recently paid £950 for plans/calculations for our loft conversion. The plans were detailed enough to be used for both planning and building regs approval.0

I paid about £500 for plans + drawings for building regs and £500 for calcs. So about £1000 in all.0

Hi,
I would imagine that this is one of those things that will vary greatly depending on what the project is. We've had architect drawings done recently for relatively small projects, cost as follows :
* Building of a 6m x 4m detached garage - £280 for specs / drawings
* Installation of a septic tank / soakaway in garden (quite detailed research and drawings for contractor, LA and SEPA) - £380
Cheers,
