hi ya ppl iim totally fed up and so low down about myself i went buy my bridal underwear today as ive got my first dress fitting tomorrow but had my son with me cos got noone to watch him and i was on my own no cheif bridesmaid or any family with me anyway i went into bhs thought id treat myself to a nice set as im not very confident about myself , i picked a lovely set was from there wedding section so i thought it would be perfect also was reduced from £25 to £17 , loved it couldnt try it on as i had son with me but bought my size (38d and 18
) got home tried it on and its far to tight i looked terrible and felt so uincomftable , its just knocked my confidence so far down i actually loath myself not the mood i should be in for my dress fitting im so worried my dress isnt going to fit either , im typing this and sobbing i know that sounds daft but i was asking my oldest bridesmaid (sister in law ) if she would come with me to get my underwear for weeks and shes never arranged a date and ive asked everytime ive seen her so day before fitting ive had to go myself just feel ive got noone my familys 200 mile away and feel like ive done inlaws heads in as i live in the same town ,
i detest going underwear shopping cos i can never find my size anyway so this was quite hard to do myself i feel like a very ugly person and feel like i`ll never look as pretty as every one else , sorry about rambling on just feel so low x

Oh Debs, I know that feeling well!!!
maybe it might be worth going into a department store where they can measure you properly and help find some underwear that is going to give you the suport you need and the fit you want.
I am a 38f and was wearing a 40d for years, when I went for a proper fitting it was amazing how much difference it made. They will be able to offer you advice and help make you feel beautiful for your big day.
Chin up chick and hope your dress fitting goes well

Debs,
Im so sorry to hear this, nothing worse than feeling like that. I always find BHS sizes quite small anyway tho. Have you tried Bravissimo? I think they do a wedding line?
I know its not easy but look at it this way, your OH loves you no matter what and you have a little boy who loves you no matter what, what more could you want?
Things will get better.0 -
ooooo so sorry your upset, dont know what I would do with out my family and close friends.
Go to Marks and Spencers, you can get measured and they are wonderful, I recently wnt as I needed new bras and found out I am a DD and have been wearing a C cup, you can take little one with you as well. They were fantastic, let me try on loads of bras till I found THE perfect fit and didnt push me into buying the most expensive.
Hope all goes well with your fitting0 -
I second bravissimo. They work wonders for big boobs & curvy figures. They are realy nice, & I've been in to find difficult bras to go under low cut dresses before with my kids. Changing rooms are big enough to fit a buggy in & still get changed in, & the staff are lovely. If you want to save, try lots in store, then go home & buy their stuff online. You will look gorgeous in both your underwear & dress. All brides do. But good fitting underwear can make you look & feel wonderful. Don't buy it ever without trying it on, wedding or not.
edit...I bet when your properly measured you aren't a D cup either. I thought it was, & when I finally went for a fitting at both bravissimo & rigby & peller, I went down a back size & up 3 cup sizes. Suddenly they became perky in the right bra0 -
3rd vote for bravissimo.
I got carried away and spent £54 on a basque for my wedding underwear
But it's beautiful, very slimming and makes my boobs look amazing!
Hubby is in for a treat on the weding night
They do many cheaper lines and their staff are fab.
If you have the cash to buy several bras in several sizes, you can get them all through the post. Though if you can find time, their shops are best because you have help on hand.
I have to sympathise with your lack of help though. I don't have anyone bar my OH to help me, and we know how good men are at wedding prep!
Can you not nag someone to spend a day with you and blitz through the jobs / shopping together?
eta: I'm positive the dress will look fab, and think about your hair and make up and fab dress on the day - you'll look beautiful. And besides everything else, your husband to be thinks you are beautiful when you look your worst, he wouldn't be marrying you otherwise, so just think how he'll react on the big day! When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present....we experience heaven on earth. Awww your OH 2b loves you the way u r, underware or no underware, i only wore a thong under my wedding dress, hubby new it and loved it, he didnt want me pushed up, squashed in an uncomfortable, he said he spent all day thinkin there was not much under the dress......;)0

Aww hugs Debs :grouphug: It's prob best you have your dress fitting 1st anyway and see what type of undies would suit best (Would that be right?) you have til Sept anyway plenty of time,or would you be able to pop somewhere tomorrow before the dress fitting. I've heard lot's of positive feedback re Bravissimo but I know they aren't everywhere, sometimes small independent lingerie shops are good too. It's a few years since I bought a bra instore as I am big so can't get them in most shops so I usually order from figleaves or amplebosom both have lovely stuff so worth a look if you fancy shopping from home.
Little ones are not always very helpful when you need a good look at everything in the shops are they?
We all have these wobbles (some more wobbly like myself lol) on Saturday I caught sight of my wobbly belly and terrible skin and wondered who I was trying to kid planning on wearing a nice dress on my wedding day when I'm so fat & ugly. But my oh tells me I'm beautiful my best mate has seen a pic of my dress on the Landy website and say's it's gorgeous she's shown her oh who say's it's really nice and I won't look like a marshmallow (he meant meringue we think?)
Sorry didn't mean this to turn into and I'm uglier than you thread.
We can see a wee pic on your avatar you're lovely, you will be gorgeous on the day and you know your oh will love you even if you have no undies on under your dress:eek::o:rotfl:Booo!!!0 -
