Hi there,
Im not sure where I stand with regards to this...
I purchased two items from Bay Trading last week, which I wanted to return. On visiting the store today, I have been told that they went into Administration on Friday and I cannot have a refund, tjhey will only offer me an exhange.
Do I have any right to ask for a refund? of is it just a bit of bad luck I'm having and will just have to accept the exchange?
Thanks
Lesley

I believe that when the administrators are called in, all payments have to be put on hold as all finances need to be put on hold so to speak.
The administrators need to look into the business to see what if they can is salvagable. Some stores could be sold off.
I think its best if you get an exchange as soon you might not be able to do that if the stores close down.
if you get an exchange and things change in next 2 - 3 weeks then you can get a refund on your exchange. Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
If the items are faulty and you definitely require a refund you will need to register a claim with the administrators which in this case is Deloittes"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Good luck, Youll be at the bottom of a very long list of people waiting to be paid.0

Unfortunately, you have no legal right to a refund (unless faulty) - although the shop can honour this if they wish to. As they are likely to disappear, customer service is likely to be none existant. Don't forget that staff working there may not know if they are going to get paid either!
If you put in a claim with the administrators, it could take a long time to sort out. I worked for a company that got money back from a company that had gone into administration 4 years earlier. We also got about 10% of the money owed. Also, the tax man comes first and if any money is left it gets filtered down - you may get nothing.
Go back while you can, get an exchange. If you still really don't want the item, you could try selling it on eBay.0 -
