There is a possibility that I may get posted due RAF Leuchars in the next year or two.
Has anyone lived in the area, and would it be a good location move?
Thanks in advance.

Leuchars is great and I had 2 fantastic tours up there.
If you like golf then it is the best posting in the UK, you are close to the seaside, within 2 hours of all of Scotland's major cities (Inverness excluded), St Andrews is great for the social/golf, Dundee fair for Shopping (although from Leuchars Train Station you can be in Edinburgh in an hour and Glasgow in 1 1/2 hours.
Leuchars is a station built for golf and of course they do a little bit of flying there and my advice would be to have PMA's had off!! (Although I am biased having done nearly 10 years up there over 2 tours).
House prices in places like Cupar, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy stack up well against the National Average as well so if you are looking to buy....0 -
Cheers Simmo mate.
I've heard nothing but good reports about the place tbh, although my house purchase may well be closer to Glasgow for footy reasons
Thanks for the info though mate.
It's my first choice so chances are that I'll get deepest darkest Wales or somewhere!John

That's one of the things that is great about it. Footie on tap!! Train from Leuchars down to the town, few swallies, match, few swallies, train back and into the Commie or Hendys for last orders!! Happy days!:D0
