Gas Homecare Agreement Costs

Hi.
This is my first post since being smitten by the money saving bug!

I'm tidying out my filing cabinet as I write and I've just come across my Scottish Gas Homecare receipts (never looked at these before). The best way I can think of describing this is that's it's a bit like your car breakdown recovery for your gas system (I'm not saying it's the same though).

Issue - I'm paying £169 this year, for what? Anyone know if I can get a similar type of service elsewhere?

Thanks to Martin, I recently changed my car breakdown cover and went from £162/year to £32/year. Hence my interest!

Well, guess one of the good things about asking dumb question is that you soon learn! Of course, this question has been raised many times before on this forum - I just hadn't searched hard enough. :-(

The good news is, if you want lots of good input on this, go look at the responses to the 'Gas Boiler Maintenance' thread originally submitted by canny_scot.
