Does anyone know which types are safe to take is pregnant? The article stated that children and pregnant women need to be careful which ones they take, then goes on to tell you what children should take but doesn't mention pregnant women again!

    Thanks,

    FE

Is it worth getting prescriptions from the Dr's anymore? I'm not sure how many tablets they would allow under one prescription, maybe they only allow a pack of 30 tablets a time in which case it's just under £7..

Thanks Nile - guess I will have to ask the GP though, as I asked a pharmacist and he told me one brand was safe, but my friend (who is PG) asked a different pharmacist at the weekend and was told that the same brand wasn't!

In scotland all pharmacies have a minor ailment service for people exempt from prescription charges.
So if you are exempt from prescription charges simply visit your pharmacy, tell the pharmacist you think you have hay fever and are there any treatments available on the minor ailment scheme. The pharmacist should at this point provide a suitable remedy on a prescription which you sign to declare your exemption status, ie you get the treatment at no charge.

you can't get cheaper than nowt!!
why is there only one monopolies commission?

I'm currently using Benadryl, but they're one of the most expensive. Last year some supermarkets were doing BOGOF, making it just under £4 for 24. Anyone know of anyone doing similar offers, or can anyone recommend anything else I could try (I use Benadryl becasue I get symptoms from early in the morning to late at night, so I can take 2 a day)
  • Just for anyone who's considering an order, I took advantage of the 6 packs of Hayfever Tablets for under £5 delivered and they were delivered today, less than a week after ordering, and everything was fine.

Perhaps they've got their systems in order now?
  • I've just bought a pack of 12 Benadryl (Acrivastine) from Boots for £3.99, and got another pack free! So that's cheaper than the current Best Buys shown in the article.

Chemist Direct 69p per pack of 30 today. Chose to use chemist-4-u because of reported problems with Chemist Direct and got free postage on my order value of £5.94 so technically cheaper! Happy hayfever season everyone...

Has anyone bought one of the Hayfever/Allergy Reliever from Lloyds Pharmacy (£14.99)? I'd like to know if it's any good.
