Ebay Buyer Offering Bank Transfer

I have listed a expensive item on ebay. I have had an ebayer contact me (they have 100+ feedback). Offering me £500. I can't amend the auction to have a buy-it-now as I have already had a few bids on it. I said I would have to remove the auction, and asked them how they would pay. They said they wanted it by friday and would prefer to pay via bank transfer which they said would mean I could get the money today and post it out today. Hmmm methinks......
I should know what to say as I've been an ebay member so long, but I don't know what to do!!! Then I'm thinking ... have I seen a scam like this on Real Hussle!?
It would be nice to scrap all the ebay & paypal poopy fees but I don't wanna get stung.
HELP!

I'm sure I won't be the only saying this but go for it without delay. The only person likely to lose out is the buyer.
Once you've got the money there's no way they can reclaim it. Giving your bank details to them is also quite safe as it contains less information than any cheque you write - you just need to give them your sorting code and account number,0 -
The only thing I would caution against is shipping the same day payment arrives, it must clear overnight as on the first day it can be stopped. Even with faster payments it is also not guaranteed to arrive immediately and he needs to be aware of that. Tell him you will ship the day after your eceive the payment, you will be sending special delivery anyway I assume for that value so it is guaranteed next day delivery, so you can send it as late as Thursday for him to get it Friday by 1pmI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
