Flights within South America - help please

I am trying to book a trip to South America.
I can get my main flights from Edinburgh to Buenos Aires and Lima - home, but need internal flights aswell.
The sales person from trailfinders was quite up front saying that the flights I need from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia would cost £200 one way if I booked it here, but could get the same flight from a local agency in South America for a lower cost.
Looking on Aerolineas website (and stating I was resident in Argentina) the same flight is only £53 !
Anyone any ideas on how to get it at this lower price ? I do not have any Argentinian friends unfortunately to use their address.
The same problem is for my flight from Santiago, Chile to La Paz, Bolivia. £200 one way and a fraction if bought locally
Any advice would be great ! TIA

Alison, I don't think there's an easy way round this. We've just done Argentina and Chile. We used Isabel at https://www.buenosaires-tours.com.ar.
She's really helpful.0 -
I have done the flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia several times and several ways. The cheapest way is to book it when you are in BA....it is just an internal flight....or go on the lanchile site as the are a cheap airline who fly this route. I have also booked it with Journey Latin America. Also make sure you get a mercusor pass if you are flying to several countries..eg it may be cheaper to fly (or get the ferry...very quick) from BA to Montevideo and then fly on an airpass down to Ushuaia... talk to JLA...you don't have to book with them....and when you get to Ushuaia get the ship to Antarctica!!!...worth every pennyWombling £457.410

you could try airlines like lanchile and lanperu (i assume they still exist - last used them 5/6 years ago) - they're quite cheap. I went from santiago to la paz, then lima back to santiago with them. couldn't fault the service!:happyhear0
