How long should a credit check take? (for a rental)

It's been a week now since I paid for the credit check to be done, for a rental property, seems quite a long time to me - I hate suspense! Anyone know roughly how long it should take?

Ring them! I had to ring mine and they just said ohhhh yeahhh everythings fine come and sign hahahaha. I waited 3 days and got impatient xx0

My daughter works for a property referencing company, they do the credit check instantly. It could be they are waiting for your employer or previous landlord to respond to their enquiries. Some of her applications are held up like this.
