Thank you! I've found 2 boxes of neglected books which I plan on putting up on the site once I've read them! Hope people don't mind slightly yellow/brown books

I've sold a few books on greenmetropolis and use the money made to buy more from the site! :o I don't think you can make a lot of money on greenmetropolis unless you are selling a lot of hard to find books and can keep yourself from buying more.

The £3 you are paid for a sale includes the cost of postage but if the book is bigger or heavier and you are allowed to add a little more postage. The books I have sold have cost about £1.60 to post so it's not a fantastic way to make cash but, I've not bought a new book for months now! I've weened myself off my 3 for 2 habit which just meant I often ended up with a 3rd book I never read or didn't enjoy. I'm now buying 2nd hand and being more selective about what I buy!

If you're going to do this, I'd recommend searching for your books before you put them up for sale. If there are already 20 copies available, I wouldn't bother as it will take an age to sell yours. When I've sold it's been because I had the only copy of the book for sale or there has only been a couple of others.

    Tx

p.s. Be careful how you rate the condition of your books when you put them up for sale, it's a hot topic on the forums over there!

How good are they? Any opinions from members? Thank you!

I have around 150 books listed on Greenmetropolis at any time and sell no more than about 1 a month.

Most of my books sell on Amazon but I list selected ones on ebay as well and at the moment I am selling around 6 books on ebay for every one on Amazon. Usually it is the other way round.

'popular' books where there are dozens of copies will not sell, so all the Jeffrey Archer, Jilly Cooper etc just chairty shop.As for things like the Da Vinci code, I doubt if even the charity shop would be interested.

I sell on Greenmetropolis.com and have sold 7 books so far since March. The ones I've sold have been where I had the only available copy and of new "chart" or highly recommended books such as Wetlands and The Elegance Of The Hedgehog. I have loads of books on there which aren't shifting such as Jane Moore novels. I also have loads of books as a backlog to read and then list on there in the hope of selling and shifting. It's been the easiest place for me to sell books on for sure. :)

Thank you very much for the advice! I'm always weary of trying out new websites but I think I'm more confident about using the site now!

Another vote for Greenmetropolis. Registered on there a few months ago and have sold 9 books so far. Easy to use, and when I did cash in some of the money it went into my bank account quickly.

You don't make a lot after P&P and sales can take a while but apart from wrapping it up and going to the Post Office there's no hassle.

I sold a book for £3 yesterday which only cost me £1.50 from Asda :)
