Need some advice on a private parking ticket.

Hi,
This has probably been asked many times before and I apologise in advance for asking again, however I parked my car on a Euro car park on sunday 26th April and got a fine. I didn't purchase a ticket as I was unaware that it was a pay and display on a sunday as there are 3 other car parks within the vicinity that are free to park on a sunday. I understand that there are probaly signs there ( i cant be sure of this at the moment ) and accept that I should have purchased a ticket, what I dont accept is that the fine is £70 if paid within 7 days which seems excessive to me so was wondering if anyone has had the same thing happen to them and what is my best course of action.
Thanks and again sorry if this has already been posted in the past.

You didn't get a fine - Just a private and unenforcable invoice. Little more than a scam.
Best course of action is to ignore the ticket and all subsequent threatening letters from ECP or their collection agents totally.
Any form of contact simply prolongs matters and any threats of credit blacklisting or other actions are pretty much meaningless. Just file the letters as evidence of a number of criminal breaches themselves and get on with things.
Search down this forum - You will find ECP discussed fairly regularly.
