How much DISPOSABLE monthly income do you have?

It strikes me that we all have different levels of income and necessary expenditure each month so although some people may earn lots of money they may be struggling harder than the MSE folk who have a lower income but less to pay out each month.

I'll start - After I've paid my monthly direct debits for my bills I have £200 left to cover everything including petrol, road tax, car bills, groceries, clothes, Xmas, birthdays, holidays and socialising. (just for me)

Am I rich or poor?

I would say I am probably in about the same boat, and though I know we are not rich, whether we are poor is a moot point. I would say we are getting by.

For example, like you I have to run a car for my job and that takes a lot of my disposeable income. I cannot afford to take a holiday (self employed), but what I am saying is I don't think I could afford to save for one - there always seems to be something or other for the car, eg. insurance, tax, m.o.t. and service etc. and I run a 12 year old car - I could not however afford to take on a loan for a car payment that would panic me.

I only get my hair done when it is past ridiculous and buy my clothes from charity shops, and underwear etc from Primark. I do however like to spend my little amounts of money on more junk from Boot sales and the like! If I did not do that I might save some money, but that keeps me going really..... ;)

As this thread has been duplicated elsewhere but as it has a couple of answers rather than delete the thread I will close it.
