I have just put our annual kwh details into Uswitch and it has come up with edf energy, using the prices on this site for dualfuel online it calculates my gas bill (BG duel fuel rate) of £170.92 to their price of £119.42.Has anyone used these duelfuel online rates to calculate their bills ? Have any forum members switched to this company the rates are

gas 2.046p for the first 1465 kwh 1.59p thereafter

the saving seems to good to be true

Are those the totals for a year? They seem very low.
You need to check if EDF have put their prices up recently. If not, it is likely they will as BG and Powergen have. Probably worth waiting a while until all the suppliers have put up their prices before doing a comparison.

I've always wondered about this 'duel' fuel. Do we have to fight for it?
Does it differ from dual fuel? :)

These figures are my last quarterly bill
  • I'm in the process of switching from Scottish power to london energy (edf) , both duelfuel online accounts with an apparent big saving of about 20%. I rang L.E. to ask if their prices were likely to be going up soon & they told me yes, on Mar 13th, but that my quote should have taken account of this since the rise had already been announced, and even if it didn't I should still save. I'm going to go back to the comparison site on Tuesday (Mar 14th) & see if it comes up with the same result!

How did you enter your current data into the comparison site?

If it was your annual consumption in kWh it is OK. If you entered your Direct Debit payments you should be wary.

New rates are - 2.231p for the first 1465 kWh per quarter, and 1.590p thereafter for gas and 9.450p for the first 225 kWh per quarter, and 6.027p thereafter for electric. Does this still offer good value as I'm in a new build currently supplied by Scottish Power for both gas/elec.
The prices quoted from edf have no standing charge either. These rates seem pretty good to me.

Ive changed to EDF (SWEB) recently - electric last November no problems here

Gas didnt change over until feb 06 - Took a few calls between Scottish power & SWEB before it got sorted.

No standing charge and you get sainsburys nector points for both fuels as an added bonus

My electricity seems cheaper. I pay £20 a month for each fuel (and did so with scottish power )and Im in credit with electric already, so Im pleased about this. ( always used online meter reading so this is accurate)
I cant comment on gas yet as my first reading is due on 23rd March

They are also one of the few utility suppliers who have an 0800 number.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

Ive just rang SWEB and checked the prices - the increase (letters sent out today ) means their rates are now -

    Electric 12.85 upto 225units 7.62 thereafter
    Gas 3.303 upto 1465 units thereafter 2.078

BUT - the online prices are not incresing and they tell me they are one of, if not the cheapest online supplier the rates are

    Electric 7.14 upto 225 units thereafter 5.12
    Gas 2.064 upto 1465 units thereafter 1.550

These prices are available for any new online customers also.

Please if someone knows of a cheaper supplier let us know

ps - no standing charges either

Gambler - that's what I'm paying and have been since November. The prices are dependent on your region.
