Morning bookie....did you have a good time....

I had a lovely time thanks. Didn't stop laughing all weekend. The Trainers were fantastic. We got outside quite a lot and did some realy stupid things but learnt a lot. You should have seen us with our legs tied together keeping our Guiding light alight whilst doing an egg and spoon race and diving under a tarpaulin.

A little grandson Sammy! Exciting. They come with bits and everything which amazes me every time I change the nappy.

Come on Lenny. Post natal miseries aren't for men.:rotfl:

Morning my fellow runners :) *crawls in on all 4's*

Well my god it was hot hot hot but very enjoyable all the same. Overall pleased with my 5:15.12 time considering I did stop and queue for the toilet twice :o:eek:.
So race and proceedings breakdown for those interested
Organisation - couldn't get any better really, all the stewards knew everything you needed to know, St John's ambulance truly did an AMAZING job for all the hundreds of walking wounded, sick, and seriously ill!
Medal - Well its shiny and its Mine :D
Goodie bag - lots in it and it weighed a bloody ton, haven't even looked in it apart from eating the mars bar at the end lying down in horseguards parade!

Start of race was very quick to get over the line which amazed me and TBH was ready to get going by this point.
First couple of miles flew by with the whole excitement, joined the other starts at mile 3 and suddenly it got very crowded. I found miles 4-9 dragged by but then saw my brother at mile 9 so that cheered me up and got me going again. Mile 10 needed the toilet so had to stop and queue for around 10 mins and at this point realised my knees where quite inflammed and stiff so did some nice stretches while I was waiting.
Mile 16 I seemed to loose the will to live with the realisation that there were still 10 miles to go . Oh running over tower bridge was amazing!
Mile 18 saw my little ray of sunshine shouting run mummy run and stopped to have a kiss to keep me going as she put it - bless. I then seemed to get a second wind and was flying along singing and happy as larry until miles 22 ish...
The home straight was easy psycologically but legs at this point really wanted to be at home having a nice bath! Coming up the mall to the finish was a memory to treasure and the greatest feeling knowing that all those months of training got me around :)

Sorry I didn't manage to catch up with anyone before or after the race but logistics was a nightmare.

Right bored you all now but if anyone has a spare wheelchair today please send it my way as I am a little stiff :rotfl:

Oh and the other highlight of the day.....using the female urinals with a shee pee  the funniest experience I have ever had :rotfl:

Ok so I get through to my start and have been saving my wee for as close to the start as possible so I don't have to stop on route. Get through, drop my bag off and head to the toilets to find a mile queue and the tannoy announcing people to head to their starts and not to queue anymore as there isn't time. Start to panic as I am about to bust then spot the female urinals and a very short queue :rotfl:Ah !!!!!! I think, woman issues me a nice cardboard shee pee and I venture around some enclosed barriers to see a sight of all these womans bottoms, ive never laughed so much. Now obviously the person who designed the urinal unit is taller than average as I lined up only to find with shee pee in place I could hardly reach the bloody thing, tiptoes and the right angling :T.... This has to be one of the highlights of the day, havent laughed that much for a long time
