Healthy Teeth for Babies Key to future Dental Health

Here are two simple tips for babies for retaining a healthy smile for a long time:
1. Practice healthy eating and healthy habits
Healthy habits are a must for having healthy teeth. Many dental cavities in baby teeth are caused due to incorrect feeding practices when they are very young. Putting your baby to bed with a bottle can lead to early dental health issues. Once you notice your baby is done with feeding enough, it is best to wean the bottle away to prevent exposing teeth to liquids with sugar for long periods.
2. Rinse teeth with water after meals
Don’t start brushing your children's teeth until they eat solid foods, but simply rinse their teeth with water after meals can wash away many food particles that lead to tooth decay. Once your children's teeth start growing and become strong, you can use a toothbrush, even if you're not actually brushing their teeth. This will help babies to learn healthy brushing techniques for the future and clean the debris and dirt from their teeth due to eating of sugary foods.
You can save money on Child's dental health by enrolling to discount dental plans which save a lot of money though discounts on dental checkups. These plans allow many to save on various dental procedures and consultation and some offer additional benefits.

May I suggest you read not only these blogs but also the comments that follow them.

But remember it isn't just what our ancestors did/didn't eat that kept their teeth healthy it is also the the fact they lived more outdoors and wore less clothing and therefore had a higher vitamin D3 status.
If we lived naked outdoors our body would naturally attain and maintain a 25(OH)D level around 60ng 150nmol/l. That level is associated with least chronic illness. We also find at that level that human breast milk flows replete with D3 and people have better teeth throughout their lives.
Remember when they used to give babies 2000iu/daily D3 (from cod liver oil) in their first year of life they grew up to enjoy 80% less type 1 diabetes incidence.Vitamin D and Diabetes-Can We Prevent it? You tube videoMy weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

But of course if that was the case then there would be no cases of dental caries in countries which enjoy a higher percentage of sunshine than we do would there? But there is:rolleyes:
Dental caries are caused by frequency of sugar intake (hence why our ancestors did not have denal caries as sugar was not widely available in any form) and the intake of vitamin D is not going to make a jot of difference if you are consuming sugar every hour and not allowing your teeth to mineralise again after the demineralisation process.0 -

Dental treatment is free for all childen under 16 years of age via the NHS. There is no money to 'save' as you don't pay for any treatment.0 -

When this appeared it had a link to an American dental insurance company in the sig.
That's been deleted now though. The advice is good though. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

Ahhh I see. Yes the advice is good but I would hate for someone to think that they need to pay for children's dental health.0 -

Surely there aren't many countries with as much sun a Qatar so how come do we find sufficient Vitamin D insufficiency to drive Type One Diabetes incidence?
If Qatar has vitamin D insufficiency then I think you will find vitamin D insufficiency in all other sun rich countries.Dental caries are caused by frequency of sugar intake (hence why our ancestors did not have denal caries as sugar was not widely available in any form) and the intake of vitamin D is not going to make a jot of difference if you are consuming sugar every hour and not allowing your teeth to mineralise again after the demineralisation process.
Association between serum concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D and gingival inflammation
you will also find that Vitamin D upregulates the calcium binding protein Calbindin D-28k necessary to repair the damage caused in carious teeth.
So the fact that most women in the UK have only a third of the optimum amount of vitamin D necessary for the proper functioning of Calctriol the active vitamin D metabolite will have an effect on their children's teeth and the continuing low vitamin D status of UK children will inevitably affect the health and quality of their teeth. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
