1996 I would doubt is the kent unit. More like the valencia or one of the later units.
Either way, if garage say chain, then adjusting the tappets is a doddle and makes the world of difference.0 -

And yes adjusting tappets is an easy job to do although to get them bang on comes with a bit of practice :beer:It's not just about the money0 -
