Ants in my compost!
Comments
-
I've got a rose in a pot on my decking - the ants seem to have made the soil in the pot their home
Will they harm my rose at all?
How can I get rid of them without killing the plant off??working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Keep it damp, they don't like that, or put some semolina in the pot, it kills the queen apparently, then the colony collapses.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

That happened to me, only discovered it when re-potting so had ants all over my hand. Ew!!!
I think keeping it wet will help as you'll flood the colony...failing that put an ant-bait trap thingy on top of it.0 -
The problem with the ants in my compost is they don't stay there. The pesky things are cultivating aphids on my black currants which are nearby. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
