The morals of parking fines

Options
Hi all,

History
Parked in a car park for 10 minutes, got £75 fine
Wrote to company saying was disproportionate they ignored and raised fine to £100 see in detail on my other thread.
Morals
We should be responsible for our actions, admit to mistakes and try to make amends where possible.
Thoughts
I’ve twice had parking fines in the past of around £25 and paid them, as I had done wrong I should pay the dues!
£75 is extortion. There is no way I will pay. BUT if a court of law decides it is not extortion then my financial views (not my moral ones) are out and I will happily pay.
Solution
Can I request the car park people take me to court to sort this out as quickly as possible? I’m thinking of ‘phoning them up to request it.
Paul

As stated on your other thread, these are not fines, just unenforceable invoices.

The PPCs operate without a shred of morality, by issuing tickets which mimic official ones, using threatening letters, bogus solicitors, and generally misleading the gullible into thinking they have to pay. So don't give the bloodsuckers a penny.

They'll never take you to court, their paperwork is too fraudulent for them to risk that.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
  • Which is why I'd quite like to ask them to take me to court.

Ask them to take you to court then.

But they wont, as they know they'll lose. So they'll just hound you some more...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
