They get away as no-one has reported it. If anyone reports it, ebay will close the auction.0 -
is it against ebay rules to have words in your title that don't describe the item you're selling? words that are purely there to draw in potential buyers?
Having now looked I'll answer my own question, Ebay say this:
"Sellers are not permitted to create titles for their listings that do not accurately describe the item for sale.
Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions"
&
"Keyword Spamming
Keyword spamming in listings is not permitted. Keyword spamming occurs when members place brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description to gain attention or divert members to a listing."Wedding Professional0 -
If you report a seller for whatever reason you think they may be breeching ebay rules. Can they see who has reported them?
Also why would you want to report someone? As long as they are not selling anything harmfull or illigal, I wonder why anyone would bother.

I just type it in Caps and make it clear and simple, if im selling a car say i'll type FORD MONDEO 1.8 GLX not like people that would type L@@K MONDEO ZETEC W@W!!! Because that looks cr*p!.0

take a look on ebay pulse. This will tell you the most looked for words in each category, this way you can you can see if your item can be described using any of these words!! www.ebay.co.uk/pulse If I find I am stuck I use this way! Anoter thing I do is search on the completed items check which items went for more or had the higer bids and see what words they used to describe!!
Hope this helps!

No, it's anonymous, the seller doesn't know who's reported them. You have a point, most people wouldn't bother to report fairly harmless (if somewhat irritating) "Keyword spamming", which is why most such auctions continue to their conclusion. Those who would report it are likely to be rival sellers.save123 wrote:If you report a seller for whatever reason you think they may be breeching ebay rules. Can they see who has reported them?

Yes, punctuation, a space or both will separate them. I often miss out spaces around punctuation to squeeze in as many words as possible.deecy wrote:does anyone know if the forward slash in schoolbag/school bag allows ebay to search for the two spellings separately?
I've always left a space as in schoolbag / school bag0 -

It's meant to be anonymous but isn't always. eBay customer care very much depends on who receives your report/email and how they choose to deal with it if at all. I've been given the user id of someone who unfairly reported me before. It turned out to be a rival seller.Coming soon....0
