Can I ask seller....

I have seen a house I'm interested in buying. The rooms and everything else are great, but there is a problem in the garden. They have dug a big hole in the garden, outside the french doors, as they where about to start doing some decking before they decided to sell. The hole is about 2 foot deep and about 4 foot long. They have got rid of the soil and paving slabs that were displaced.
If they accept my offer would it be reasonable for me to ask them to have the hole filled? The house is in a terrace and to gain access to the garden you would have to go through the alleyway situated at the end of the street.

Thanks for any replies.
There are many things I'd like to say to you, but I don't how...

You can put any terms you wish with your offer. You can only ask and take it from there. Sounds reasonable to me.

Yep, quite reasonable... you have the right to ask and they have the right to refuse...and possibly lose a sale..! :)

    Good luck :)

    I agree, definately ask.

As a seller myself, I would have filled the hole in BEFORE putting the property on the market. :-)
I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like? :D :A :D

Fill it in yourself is my advice. If you ask them to do it, maybe his wife will end up in there.. :)
