We have been connecting to the internet at 2.2Mbps until recently when it has shot up to 7.6Mbps apparently due to fibre optics at the exchange or something, does this actually mean we are connecting over 3x faster or isn't it that simple as we haven't noticed a difference when loading pages etc.
Many thanks

Test your connection here: http://www.speedtest.net/
You won't notice a difference loading everyday web pages unless they have lots of images etc. You'd notice it if you downloaded movies, music etc.0
