Changing faulty DS lost original receipt

Hi I bought DS from Game online in Sept, by Christmas the hinge on it was broken. I couldn’t find the original receipt to send it back to game online so it has just sat in cupboard. Today I went on to my account on Game (first time I had thought to do this) and my order is there so that is proof I bought it for them. I have printed a copy of this and emailed Game to ask what I should do to get the DS replaced. My question to you is does anyone know if you need the original receipt to get something changed or is it just proof I bought it from them enough.

You don't need the original receipt, just some form of proof of purchase.
