Am just about to open an account with Investec and on the application form £50 is available to an existing account holder if we've been referred by them.
Any forum member wish to refer us?

I'm sure you'll get someone out there who will appreciate your good turn, but tying up your money for about 3.2% makes no sense when West Brom is giving 4.3! Do you think rates will hop up to over 5% on the Investec to equal or beat that?0

Hardly tying it up, 3 months notice is all that's required.0 -
And the rate changes weekly - likely to be upwards not downwards!

No more PM's please.
Didn't know about the board Browntoa, thanks, just figured it may interest some savers. You can close the thread now if you wish?0 -

Well, not long ago it was 4.4. Now it's less than 3.2...
You can get easy access with 3.5% and no 3 months to wait for it when the 5% accounts return. You can get 4.3 for a year and 4.4 for 5 years as of today...
It may go up, but not quickly and certainly not enough to make this a good investment for savings.0 -

The Investec account will go up to ~5% when the 5% accounts return (slightly below if there is only 1 or 2 of them).
It's a great account if you don't want to have to keep moving your savings around to chase the good rates. In the last 4 years i've moved the main bulk of my savings from A&L > B&B > Icesave and KE > A&L > Natwest and BOS. It's a hassle that some people could do without.0
