how do you feel when you see people selling free items, eg the cds out of newspapers, or hotel toiletries, or perfume samples on cards?
This morning at a boot sale someone was selling these in huge quantities.

I have no problem with it at all, I have even bought some before now especially the DVDs as my Mum loves some of the cheapie ones and can't always get out to buy the newspaper.I'd also rather pay 10p for a free DVD than 60p or more for the newspaper just to get a freebie.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Disappointed and surprised that anyone would buy them tbh.0

another thing i noticed recently were that people had obviously gone to the £1 shop and bought a handful of items which they were now selling still in the packaging for £1.50 a time.0

Supply and demand. If no one wants the stuff then it won't sell, if people do want the stuff it will sell. Likewise if someone buys from a wholesaler or in bulk they are going to want to make a profit, that's how we all work, we buy at one price and sell at a hopefully higher one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Doesn't bother me. If people want to buy then they'll buy. If there was something I wanted, I'd buy. It's a matter of personal choice really. For the one selling, best of luck to them!0

So long as the seller isn't trying a dodge and the buyer knows what they are getting, all well and good.0

I saw someone once selling the jiffy bags from Poundland and thought they said 25p on them. I walked more towards the stall and he was selling them for £2.50! And the annoying thing is he wasn't just selling one set.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

i was curious as to the implications of the goods being "not for sale or resale" also the fact that hotels dont give toiletries so much now (they have dispensers of shower gel on the wall rather than individual pots) and stoes dont give out perfum samples, they give squirts on cards - due to misuse of freebies maybe.0

Maybe, but then people who wouldn't have taken them anyway can't so it doesn't bother them, it only bothers people who are taking them for other reasons.twentypenceoff wrote: »i was curious as to the implications of the goods being "not for sale or resale" also the fact that hotels dont give toiletries so much now (they have dispensers of shower gel on the wall rather than individual pots) and stoes dont give out perfum samples, they give squirts on cards - due to misuse of freebies maybe.
Personally, I don't mind if people sell these things, no-one is forcing anyone to buy, and it can be quite good.
I got a DVD from ebay recently that I don't see about too often in normal version, but the newspaper freebies seem quite numerous.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

I admire their entrepenurial efforts (I should declare an interest here as I often sell the free DVD's / CD's).
Any transaction needs a buyer and a seller - if both are happy, then what is the problem.
I'm assuming in this that any buyer would know that they are promo copies and that the large supply of items has not be nicked.0
