Having an archive of my old website on my new one?

I am looking into the possibility of moving my website from being hosted on a US server to being hosted on a UK-based one.
I would like to take the opportunity to completely redesign my website and make some changes I have been meaning to make for months.
My site currently uses B2evolution as the blog software, and EM Album Pro for the photo album software. I want to change both of these for the new site.
If I wanted to make a copy of my current site on the new one, so that I can have a link (e.g. "click here for the old blog & photo archives"), would I need to install B2Evolution & EM Album Pro on the new website as well?
Or is there some kind of tool I can use to grab the old site & pick it up & move it all to the new site? Sorry, I really only know the basics so I'm not sure if there is some cool tool I can use, or if I have to basically build it all again from the beginning.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

You'd need to move the old site over, but you could quite easily have it at archive.yourdomain.com.
You'd need to backup everything on the old site, databases and all. How to do it variest from host to host and control panel to control panel, but it's worth raising a ticket with your new host, they should help you do it. It's what they're there for. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
as above..... do you know what tool is used for mysql database? phpmyadmin, phpminiadmin ??
there should be a tool built into the db section to "export" which will save the db as a sql...
does your host have ftp access? if so you can backup all the pages by sending all the files to your home pc... some ftp software also allows you to zip the files into a smaller file.
once downloaded to your home pc, you can the upload to the new host in a few minutes by moving the files back off your pc and onto the serverSilenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0
