Help needed with Camcorder & DVD R disc

I have a Canon DC201 camcorder & on a recent trip used Toshiba DVD R (DL) discs.

Whilst recording, we used 2 discs, on both sides. Have tried to watch recordings, but, although 3 x sides are fine, one side is completely empty-1 hour of precious holiday recording missing??

The discs don't need to be initialised prior to being used - only finalised in the camcorder once you want to watch on a normal DVD player.

I have tried to record 5 seconds on the problem disc and it has allowed me to do so.

Whilst recording on this disc (on holiday) there was no sign on anything wrong - the 'record' button appeared on the LCD screen as usual.

Any ideas?

Comments

  • Can you play them back on the camcorder - are they truley blank?

Check the manual - there are particular modes that you record it. Usually something like video mode or VR mode. DVD players are really bad at copeing with the wrong mode.

You may have more luck putting it in your computer.
