Free Fridge with SWALEC

Looking at the SWALEC web site for freebie energy saving light bulbs I noticed they are offering a free fridge. I rang to find out more. Apparently if you are on the Energy Careplus Scheme (low income) they will exchange your fridge for a new Indiset one [doesn't matter the condition, working or not] If you want to change your fridger/freezer there is a cost of £50-00 - around a quarter of the original price - the only thing they wont do is exchange a fridge and a freezer for one unit, has to be like for like.

As per usual unless you're getting benefits, you've no chance. Why do the energy companies assume that if you work and CANNOT claim benefits, this doesn't automatically mean you are flush! I have worked out that based on me getting housing benefit, council tax benefits etc instead of going to work full time, I would be better off NOT WORKING! Wheres the sense in that! All to pot if you ask me.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Why do you think they are queuing up in Calais to try and get into the UK? I know what some people have to live on on benefits is very low but there appears to be loads who would never go to work again if they could help it because of the salary they would have to earn to cover what the state gives them. In my view (prepare to be shot at), benefits should be no higher than the minimum wage.

  • I've been waiting since March for my free fridge, I'm beginning to think it's just a PR stunt and there are no free fridges, like lunches then? I didn't find anything saying I could have a free fridge, I asked if there were any discounts as I'm on the low income plan and they said I could have a free one, now it's cold again, I don't need it so much...

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
