Don't want item anymore, seller agrees ... help

Hi! My husband recently bid on and won a cricket bat. Once he won it he realised that it was a jnr size and wouldn't be much use to him. I emailed the seller fully prepared to buy it if necessary and explained the situation. HE was great!! Said that was fine and we wouldn't have to purchase it but neither of us know if there is anything we need to do now? Do we just leave it as is and not pay or is there something else we need to do?
Thanking you in advance for any help!
Regards!

  • The seller needs to initiate a dispute stating you both agreed to cancell the sale so they can get their fees back.

    From eBay help...

How can the seller get their fees back if I back out of a purchase?
As soon as you buy an item, we charge a fee to the seller. If you then back out of the purchase, the seller must file an Unpaid Item Dispute against you to get this fee back. If you both confirm to eBay that you mutually withdrew from the sale via the dispute, the seller can get their fee back without you receiving an unpaid item strike against your account.
  • not sure how this works, but couldn't the seller just send a mutual cancellation request? You then click yes and the seller gets their fees back.
