Okay, ready for this week's report and goal setting!

Last week I wanted to do the following:

    Add 2 £2 coinsAdded 3
    Keep spending diary Done
Buy the few last items for small enterprise and complete paperwork for thisBought the bits, but have not done the paperwork
Try to book sales table at upcoming plant fair to launch small enterprise Done
Work out a rough budget for month (not easy as I have lots of things to buy for DS1's very special trip to China in April) gave up on this one, as not a normal month. However, have not spent more on his stuff than planned
Have one no spend day Done, had 2
Get one day's work (fingers crossed, forecast is better...)Yes! Success at last. One full day, and an unexpected half day that is to be regular for a while.

I am actually pretty pleased that I managed all those! :D

    This week I want to:

    Add 2 x £2 coins
    Keep spending diary
Not spend anything in Boots, the garden centre or on presents
    Complete paperwork for venture
    Package stuff for venture
    Have one no spend day
Put advert for more work into forthcoming newsletter

    Good luck everyone.

    Great Thread!!!

    This week I want to:
    • Take lunch with me to work on Mon/Tues
    • Work from home Wed-Fri to save petrol (all depends what nasty stuff hits fan, whether I have to go into office)
    • Pay cheque to Halifax card – waiting for e-bay stuff to go into bank account from pay-pal.
    • Sort more paperwork – found 2 old passbooks for old savings accounts last week. Took them into bank – nearly £10 all together in both. Not much but I have asked for accounts to be closed and money to go into e-bay account. Will include this in cheque to Halifax – every little helps!
    • Try not to buy any alcohol on weekdays – this one may be tricky!!
    • Not go shopping at all, and just use stuff from in cupboards – had a bit of a tidy this weekend, amazing what you find!!
    • List some stuff on e-bay (thanks to OP for advice on Thursday listings)

    Good luck everyone

I thought I did quite well this time, still a couple of things to improve on though...

    1) - At least three job applications in this week. YES, also attended interview on Thursday, but didn't get the job. :(

    2) - Research business idea while at Mum's house. Didn't do this due to change of plan as I didn't go to Mum's (as had an interview to go to), but I am going to her house tomorrow instead.

    3) - Pay £20 in £2 coins into bank, then transfer to holiday spending money savings account. Try and get one more £2 coin. YES & YES!

    4) - List a minimum of 5 Ebay items. YES, put 5 items on for 10p listing day!

    5) - Get back on track with diet as have been slipping back into junk food snacks and have had two takeaways this week. Did OK for most of the week, only had one takeaway, but gave in to chocolate and assorted nibbly things last night. DOH!

    Goals for w/c 12th March

    1) - Get another three job applications in.
    2) - Research business idea while at Mum's house.
    3) - Spend as little as possible, as going out for a meal with OH next Saturday.
    4) - Save at least one more 20p (can't afford to save any £2's this week.)
    5) - Stick to diet for the week, apart from the meal out.

This seems do-able, so hope to report back next time having done everything!

Right, question first, is it sad that i look forward to this each week?!

Anyway, on to business, congrats if you get to the end!!

    Goals for last week were:

Contribute at least one £2 coin to savings. Success, yippee! 10/10 :j

Research some new (cheap) meals to make, for lunches and dinner. Need to increase my range of dishes and keep myself interested! Nope, didn't find time. Determined to do this in the coming week though. 0/10

Think of something nice to make to take on long car journeys to avoid motorway services prices (doing lots of these journeys in next month or two). Did this one :j Really proud cos I've been struggling with this over the last few weeks. Am doing at least one (often two) 320 mile journeys a week at the mo so saving money and staying healthy! Did buy one coffee to help keep me awake but took apples, pasta salad, orange pepper etc with me, yummy! 10/10

Think of some nice things to have as snacks/puddings to get sugar/sweet fix without spending money on chocolate etc (and putting on weight!). Ummm... yes and no! Bought more apples etc in place of chocolate puds but not done enough yet. Need to consider why I get such sugar cravings, need to look at diet as a whole really ;) . Anyway, 5/10

Try and have two no spend days. Well, had one yesterday but that's it. Two other days were only very small spends (33p on milk and the like) so don't feel too bad! 5/10

So thats 30/50 in total but have had quite a good week attitude wise so pleased!

So, some goals for the coming week (some more related to money saving than others but like to put them all down!):

Contribute at least one more £2 coin to savings. Deposit £20 into my current account and decide which savings account to transfer it to (set up separate account maybe?).

Same as last week: Research some new (cheap) meals to make, for lunches and dinner. Need to increase my range of dishes and keep myself interested!

Together with the above: Look at my diet (as in what I eat, not that I'm specifically on a diet) and try to find some changes to make it healthier. I feel ignorant of what a "balanced diet" actually means so do some research on this. I know that some of what I eat is largely out of habit and I just need to make gradual changes in those habits. Hopefully more nutricious home cooked food will save me money too!

Keep up the taking of home made food on long journeys to avoid motorway services food. Maybe allow one coffee!

When i get home on tuesday, make a meal plan up until the 23rd (when I go away again), shop for everything that won't go off. Try to keep this as cheap as possible.

Have one no spend day (might not even manage the one this week!).

Whoa, that looks quite a lot, will do my best though! Good luck everyone :D

First time I've done something like this so here goes:

    1. Need urgently to phone receivers of company I used to work for to see if there is a glimmer of a chance of getting money I incorrectly paid to them back (please cross fingers everyone!)

    2. Get back into the habit of preparing son's sandwiches (& mine) the night before so that I'm not spending money on school dinners/ supermarket bought sandwiches.

    3. Have at least 4 no spend days - should be ok on this one (provided I can manage (2), lol!)

Spendaholic - don't forget the offer is still open.
    2014 Target;
    To overpay CC by £1,000.
    Overpayment to date : £310

    2nd Purse Challenge:
    £15.88 saved to date
  • BUMP - Anymore for anymore?
