Wireless problem

Evening all, hope someone can help?
For no apparent reason my laptop does not recognise our wireless router.
The router has all the normal lights on.
My laptop picks up the neighbours wireless router.
I can connect to the internet by connecting straight to the modem so there is no problem with the service provider
Any suggestions?
cheers

Have you tried switching the router off for a second?
Can you see your router in the list?0 -
Yeah i've turned everything off hoping it re-sets everything. That usually works but no, i can't see my wireless network in the list, just the neighbours0

Just a thought, do you have a wireless video sender in the house? I recently changed the channel on my one and it accidentally coincided with my routers transmission channel - completely jammed it! I even ordered a new router thinking it was broken (managed to cancel) I only worked what had happened when I changed the channel on the router and hey presto.0

Wire it up with an ethernet cable, login to the adminstration page, and make sure the ssid is being broadcast, possibly change the ssid or broadcast channel, and see if it appears on the laptop.0

I don't know what a wireless video sender is so i don't think so. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.0 -
It appears that the wireless network found is infact mine but is no longer security enabled and has gone back to the original name - belkin 54g rather than the name i had given it?!
Anyone give me any explanations for this - i'm confused:rolleyes:0 -
Did someone hit the reset switch?0
-
Not on purpose! I'm sure the reset switch needs a pin to reset it.
I guess i'll just have to reset the security and get a new password?0 -
Yes, use wpa (if you were using wep before), get? - you can choose the password0
