I'm the only person at work who lives far (ish) away, everyone lives locally. It's a school that really is in the middle of nowhere, I'm into my walking but this would be too far as well as pretty dodgy in the dark.... am applying for new jobs this week - every one is reachable on public transport so fingers crossed!!
Spending diary has been started!! No spending so far - don't want to write anything in it, haha!Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67
20.8% down, 79.2% to go!
The quicker I'm debt free, the quicker I'll be Mrs. H! Date to beat: April 20180 -
Well done on facing up to your debts. I'm actually really impressed where you can get contacts from through quidco for £6? I'm a lens wearer myself and paying £18 a month atm!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I buy 6 months' worth of monthlies from Vision Direct which are £39, then usually get about £3 cashback a time. Suppose it depends what type you wear - I like dailies best but they cost so much more!!Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67

I wear dailies too, couldn't give them up they are one of my essentials! I only wear them in one eye and I find monthlies uncomfortable. Well done for getting them so cheap!
Don't forget to tally up your NSD if you've managed it, I always forget to count mine up!
Best of luck with your job hunting.

Hi
I don't know if this is helpful to you, but i have all my payments set up on direct debits etc to go on the first couple of days after i'm paid, I have a second account for 'the shopping' which i transfer money into straight away, and then the 'surplus' is taken out straight away or used to pay stuff with online.
I would never see the extra money if i tried to keep it till the end of the month, so it seems to work better this way.Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again
Total debt £4,839.51 (Still adding it up though
)
Now : £4, 759.810 -
I do this too Sammey!! All my direct debits go in one go, then it would appear I fritter away the rest.....
I've realised my spending is very emotionally connected... for example, when I've had a bad day or I feel down I'll spend money, whether it's buying a chocolate bar or a new pair of jeans to 'cheer myself up'. Do others get this?Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67

Crikey, this board moves fast!!
Closed down two settled credit card accounts today. Not exactly a major event, but made me feel good to tidy things up and remove temptation of running up debts on them again!Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67

Still no silly spending.......every time I open my purse to buy Heat or something equally stupid I keep thinking about how much I don't want to admit to it and write it down!!! So it's just been the Direct Debits and nothing else... Go me!Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67

£90 for car parking is scary,as the car is only worth £750,can you park it somewhere else,on the street,or maybe offer to pay for parking at an old persons house nearby, you would be susprised how many old people would like a car outside their house overnight,it gives them a sense of security.0
