No mate.
I watch the BBC, I watch what info they release, what they dont, what they skim over.
I read the BBC on the Web & I watch BBC on the TV.
But for good measure I also balance this with loads of other sources.
The closest I get to the Daily Mail is my wife gets it on Saturday for the TV Guide & I usually read about 5 or 6 pages (one of which is about Arsenal).
Trust me. The BBC are Labour Biased. 100% Labour Biased.
They lead Labours' agenda & they lead it DIRECTLY from No.10.Not Again0 -
I dont think we will agree0

We have a chance but I doubt it.
If Walcott, Nasri, Fab, Ed & Arshavin are playing well anything can happen but Man U are going to score goals against us.
By the way if you lose your job, or have a couple of weeks holiday with nothing to do, spend it watching/reading the BBC & any reliable sources of media.
I bet you would change your mind.Not Again0 -
I’m afraid that unfortunately I have to agree with you over that and we definitely need some improvement at the back0

1. MPs shouldn't be "stigmatised" for following the rules. The same rules his leader is demanding be scrapped?
2. He thinks he should be compensated ON TOP of his salary - which would be over £100k as a cabinet minister - for working long hours
3. "Do people want their MPs to do more work outside of Parliament? I don't think so." - Tell that to most of the Shadow Cabinet who are part time MPs and rebelled against Cameron's plan to stop them earning real money in the city
4. multimillionaires "out of touch with ordinary people" - who does he mean? How many multimillionaire ex Etonians are in the Shadow Cabinet again....?
Will Cameron sack him?
Wow, theres more spin in your post than one of those tabletop spinners from the 80s.
Right from the start he states:
Mr Robertson said the "clocking in" proposal - which would not require MPs to provide receipts for expenditure - was unworkable as it would effectively allow "MPs to swipe in and then go off and play golf".
Mr Robertson told BBC News the current system of allowances needed to be "cleaned up" and that MPs should be required to account for "every penny" they spend.
Who DOESNT agree with this. His leader, as you well know, is saying that teh CURRENT system should be scrapped. This bloke is agreeing.
I'm not backing up tories, as you will accuse me of, but I read the story after your post, as I thought there must be something going on, but seems as a labour member, you are doing what labour members do, ignoring the facts and spinning like never before.0 -

The piece also says "Mr Robertson said he would not defend Mr Conway or anyone else who had abused the system but said it was "unfair" MPs were stigmatised for operating within the rules as they stood." So that completely agrees with my point 1 - he's defending MPs for claiming BBQs and the like as its within the rules. he may well want the rules changed. But as I rightly said he thinks it unfair to stigmatise MPs "operating within the rules as they stood"
So, have I become confused, or put words into his mouth? Or have I quoted what he said?
And thats just point 1. I'll cut the point 2 text in case you managed not to read that bit either: "He said that his MP's salary was his sole source of income and MPs should be compensated for having to work long, anti-social hours and spending long periods away from their families." - he wants to be paid on top of his salary for working long hours. Any comments Mr Devon?
How about on point 3 or 4 where he draws uncomfortable parallels with most of his Shadow Cabinet colleagues? No? Oh thats right, its because:Graham_Devon wrote: »I'm not backing up tories, as you will accuse me of, but I read the story after your post, as I thought there must be something going on, but seems as a labour member, you are doing what labour members do, ignoring the facts and spinning like never before.0 -
MiserlyMartin wrote: »Again the Labour loving BBC have siezed on one statement and spun a story out of it which is out of context. Move along now.
The story was printed in the Evening Standard. The BBC are reporting that story. If you're upset with it then perhaps you might like to read the original Standard piece here
The funny thing is that the various quotes and paraphrases used by the BBC are cloned from the Standard article, who have essentially just quoted what the guy said.
So, who is spinning here? The BBC, or you?0
