Hmmm he's put his foot in it on a number of fronts on behalf of his party.

I'm sure I agree with him that people do not want their MP doing outside jobs - I wonder how many tories do?

And what's wrong with anoraks

    :p

If they aplied the 'rules' as they were intended (ie your main home is exactly that - not a shed at the bottom of somebody's garden) and they were externally audited, then there would be no need for a new system.

Just goes to show what a cynical bunch of moneygrabbers and selfseekers most (but not all) MPs (and for that matter MEPs) are.

Was thee ever an element of public service in the role of MP?
  • Wonderful. How many howlers in one place:

    1. MPs shouldn't be "stigmatised" for following the rules. The same rules his leader is demanding be scrapped?
    2. He thinks he should be compensated ON TOP of his salary - which would be over £100k as a cabinet minister - for working long hours
    3. "Do people want their MPs to do more work outside of Parliament? I don't think so." - Tell that to most of the Shadow Cabinet who are part time MPs and rebelled against Cameron's plan to stop them earning real money in the city
    4. multimillionaires "out of touch with ordinary people" - who does he mean? How many multimillionaire ex Etonians are in the Shadow Cabinet again....?

    Will Cameron sack him?

    Are you having a laugh?

The "story" is leaked to the BBC at least 2 days before, broadcast of what a problem Britain is facing & two days later is miraculously solved by Ministers.

Its bloody continuous & has been going on for a good few years now.

The BBC is a permanent party political broadcast by the Labour Party with the forced 5% Anti-Governmental issue chucked in courtesy of any other media that have picked up a headline story.

I am not pro-conservative or any other party but I am certainly not blind & deaf.

What a joke. The news might as well be written by Brown & his cronies & I wouldn't* be suprised if some of it was.

Do you remember Fiona Phillips saying "70% of us support pay as you throw"? She could hardly keep a straight face!

TV licence fee is funding it aswell...

So all the criticism they have levelled at the government growth figures is supporting them. I think a lot of people just see what they want to see. I suppose the mail is unbiased

They have no choice to critise the figures & budget because every bloody economist in the country says what a load of bull it was.

The BBC didn't even start reporting Darlings bull until a good few hrs after every media source in the whole of the UK started slating Darlings predictions at which point they were left with no choice!
