Item not received must refund be for postage too?

Just wondering where exactly I stand on this - I bought something from a seller and it's gone missing. She has said she would refund the cost of the item - nothing about refunding postage (postage cost was more than the item as it was relatively heavy). However where do Ebay stand on this - must she refund postage too?
Just to let you know apparently as I left it until 2 weeks after she posted the item (She did not tell me it had been posted) she thought it had been received and disposed of her proof of postage.
Thanks

Its her responsibility to get it to you and to keep the postage receipt. She should refund you in full. If she has replied and not refunded straight after she might be trying it on to see your response as she must realise none of this is your fault. I would definitely open a paypal dispute if she either does not refund very soon or trys to refund just the item price.
I take it you have checked with your local sorting office in case they have it and have not carded you? If its a heavy item it might be that your local postie would not be the one delivering it.0 -

Ask her for a full refund including postage, and if she wont co-operate open up a dispute. I'm inclined to disbelieve the 'disposed of proof of postage' too!0

Should refund cost + postage (her hard cheese if she charged you more postage than she paid as RM will only refund her actual cost). Start a dispute in Paypal if she mucks around.0

My guess is it was never sent and she's trying it on in the hope that a less experienced buyer will think they can't get the postage refunded. I know I have a box of COP's over a year old so find this scenario highly unlikely too.0
