Are we going to have yet another one of these threads everytime someone notices the price of something going up?
Same story everytime - consumer revenge! Shop elsewhere! HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY THIS?!?

And then everyone carries on as before.

I noticed that Evian mineral water (2L) went up from 61p to 83p overnight. Bye bye Tesco. I use Morrisons now as it is cheaper and I also have a staff discount card as my brother works there :D

That's right - vote with your feet! They can only get away with hiking up the prices because people keep going in there and paying it.
My solution is to budget more aggressively (but don't go without the things I need, like decent food) and consistently buy the cheaper brands or shop elsewhere. I find that I keep switching supermarkets to try and get things cheaper. Loyalty does not benefit the consumer - only the supermarket. Consumer Revenge! Bring it on !! ;)

I was loyal to Tesco for years (sheer laziness) but after the constant price hikes I decide enough, so now I'm a 'where I get the best price' shopper! :D

They have actually noticed my desertion and recently sent me a set of 3 money off your shop vouchers. I decided if I was going to use any it would have to be on decent offers so I checked out the website and made a list of things we used that were on offer. I timed my shop for 'reduction time' and filled my trolley with whoopsies and things we use regularly that were on offer. The only thing I paid full price for was the News of The World for the £5 off £30 Morrisons shop coupon (accepted by Tesco) which I tore out as soon as it went through the till and combined with the £6 off £40 and the £3 off finish dishwasher tablets they had sent me! So yes they got a shop out of me but I paid the bare minimum and "saved" £70+ during the venture. :p

To add insult to injury (theirs of course) I stopped at customer services to claim DTD on a reduced trifle that went through at full price so made a profit on it.

So that's my shoppers revenge and as to loyalty ;)- not a hope, generally their prices were far too high!
