I think it's about time we taught them a lesson and go on a mass hunger strike! :rotfl:

There has to be a simpler way to protest?
Maybe for the whole of June don't go into Tesco?
For July don't go into Asda, then August Morrison's,

I don't know of a viable way of protesting?

I bought Robinsons shredless marmalade about 3 weeks ago for 96p, this week it's £1.22!

At our Tescos it was £1 this week

That's right - vote with your feet! They can only get away with hiking up the prices because people keep going in there and paying it.
My solution is to budget more aggressively (but don't go without the things I need, like decent food) and consistently buy the cheaper brands or shop elsewhere. I find that I keep switching supermarkets to try and get things cheaper. Loyalty does not benefit the consumer - only the supermarket. Consumer Revenge! Bring it on !! ;)

    Yes, Consumer Revenge is good!

I went to the market for the fruit and veg today but it cost me the same once I'd paid for parking.

Better quality though, I bet, and it'll keep longer.

There's a lesson there, Barneysmom. Buying fruit/veg at the market is better for the local economy too - as well as keeping the supermarket's profits down. It never ceases to amaze me how rubbish supermarket's friut/veg is. It looks shabby, tastes bland, and usually only lasts a couple of day before going off.

  • I was in Waitrose the other day and an assistant told me they'd stopped stocking the Cardini's dressing, maybe Tesco know this and are increasing their prices accordingly?

Pedigree Gravy Bones are now £1.58 a box in Tesco  They used to be just over the £1 mark - what's going on?! I'm going to have to ration them when I give them to the dog!
