So it seems to be between Turtlemats and Magimats? As they seem to be a similar price (including some web exclusive ones from Turtle), I will perhaps wait for the first one to have a sale, as I need to buy 3 mats!

Many thanks for everyone's input, and for the website details.

we have these the one I have by the front
    door was £4.99 in homebargains
and I have a couple in the caravan where
mud can be a mega problem again both
were cheaper ones from the Range store
and one from Morrisons neither of them
cost more than £6 and all of them
wash lovely every time and still look the same
    as when we bought them.

As promised, have just had an email from Turtle mats - some designs up to 50% off:

Will report back again when they next offer me any other deals!

Thanks MadMac. They actually had 3 of these items at the same price when I checked in April. I actually quite like the lighthouse one (I'm just a big kid at heart) but it isn't quite big enough.

I think the Magimat ones were around £29 for a similar size.

There is also this site which I came across, cheaper than turtle mats & claim to be as good.
I'm thinking of buying one from there & wonder if anybody else has bought from this company? They also have a section with some of their mats on offer at the moment too, which I find very appealing. They also do custom sizes it seems.

The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I was sceptical about these - my Mrs bought one for the back door and they do work quite well compared with the old mat we had. Got a dog and a cat that used to trail mud in and the amount that came in was reduced quite a bit.

Think it was a cheaper range she got (from somewhere like the Range) but the more expensive ones are probably worth the money! I'd get another.

The Dirt Trapper mats look very similar to the Turtle mats but I've not experienced them personally. I suspect that as they are 100% cotton fibres, they should be fine! It comes down to personal choice.

BTW, do wash them when you first get them (I throw my ones in the washing machine and then drip dry them on the line) as it really improves their absorbancy. You can then rewash them as and when needed.

One of my mats is probably 7 years old now and still washes like it was new, so I remain very impressed. Highly recommended!
